Happy Birthday, Jesus

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph.  But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her fiance, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly.

As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.

All of this occured to fulfill the Lord's message through his prophet: "Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means God is with us.

Matthew 1:18-23, NLT

Sock Swap

Remember how I mentioned to y'all that I was participating in a Christmas Sock Swap?! I got paired up with an Oklahoma native, Rebekah, from Life with the Edward's. Yay for us Oklahoma girls representing in the sock swap!

I was so excited to open up my package from California!

My favorite thing: the ROSE SALVE. It's seriously amazing--I put it on my lips and cuticles multiple times per day.  And that nail polish you see? Already on my toes :)

Thanks, Rebekah, for making me feel so special at Christmas time!

Denton Christmas

We were able to escape ol' T-Town last week to head south to Texas. Every other year, we travel to Denton to celebrate Christmas with Alan's sister, Jill, and brother-in-law, Beau. This year our Christmas celebration grew by one teeny tiny body, Tyce :)  I cherish the time we get to spend with this sweet family, and I'm so happy we started this tradition for our families to continue.

Enjoy pictures of our Christmas celebration! As I was looking through them, I noticed we didnt take any decent pictures of the adults--all our focus was on one handsome, drooling little guy (who now has TWO teeth)!

Still Alive

Good morning, blog friends! :) It's been like...forever....since I've blogged. Nothing super secret or big going on in my life, though. I have this amazing talent downfall of letting myself become completely overwhelmed with these high priority ridiculous "to do" lists that I keep in my head. I have been super good at creating these lists during this holiday season, which leaves me feeling unnecessarily overwhelmed.  All that to say this: I just decided to take a little unannounced blogging break :) ....and, I'm back! (Even my husband commented on my lack of blog posts!)

The biggest news that happened during my blog break:

I own this :)
We had an early Christmas with my in-laws!
I'm so in love with my camera!
I've been practicing--and, I've already created a list of accessories that I *think* I need.  Two of my girlfriends own the same camera, and we're planning on taking photography classes at our local community college in the Spring!

I don't know about y'all, but I'm super ready for Christmas! It's my favorite holiday of the year, and I just can't wait to share special Christmas time with some of my favorite people in the world--my family.

Fabulous Friday

I have a busy, fun-filled Friday of spending the day with my girlfriend, shopping for our Christmas "angels," and getting pedi's, but I wanted to show you a few pictures from our evening last night. We had an AMAZING time! This was our 2nd time to see Aaron Watson, and he didnt disappoint. We got to visit with him for a few minutes after the concert....nicest guy EVER! He puts on a heck of a honky tonk show--we're hoping he comes back to Oklahoma soon.

(Sorry for the quality--they were taken by phone)

PS-So you all thought I was going to be super giddy about meeting this hunk?! You should have seen my husband! ;) Alan loves him some good 'ol country music, especially a live show. He was right up on the stage next to me--pretty sure he "stole" a set list from the stage that we later had signed!

Not only do we love his music, but after we saw him the first time we realized that we had something else in common with Aaron......we're all Church of Christ-ers! Haaaaaaaay!

Hip Hip Hooray for Date Night

Tonight is a group "date" night! :) We're headed out with 4 other couples (plus, a couple single ladies) to.....

the River Walk in Jenks for dinner at....

Los Cabos! :) Then, we're off to see.....

Aaron Watson
(Side Note: He was confirmed to my "Top 5" list a couple of years ago, Alan better hope that Aaron doesn't take a likin' to me tonight, haha! Who am I kidding?)

(Side Note #2: If you don't have arrangements made with your spouse concerning a celebrity "Top 5" list you totally should consider making one. Who knows when you'll be given that once-in-a-lifetime chance?!)

Just in case you're not drooling yet.....

Who doesn't love a handsome man in a cowboy hat that can sing some good 'ol honky tonk music?

Wish me luck??!
I kid, I kid.

Wedding Shower

The Sunday following Thanksgiving I threw a wedding shower for Alan's cousin, Tiffany. Not only is she family to me, but she's become a great friend of mine! We had a small family shower at my house, and I wanted to share a few decoration pictures with you.
