No Pea in Our Pod

Not that I have liked dealing with any baby-making struggles, but I have decided to share them with others in hopes of being able to help someone else in their emotional and physical journey to have a family. In a round-about way, I feel like God must think I'm an awfully strong person, for the saying goes "God won't give you anything you can't handle with Him." Ha! There are days I definately don't feel like that strong of a person.

Thanks to a great girlfriend, I made up my mind to discuss the issues that come along with trying to create a family. She struggled with similiar circumstances until she found the right physician to help her, and now she has a beautiful family of four! She told me the other day that she whole-heartedly believes that she endured such hardships so that she might help others dealing with the same thing. I'm determined to be just as influential as her!

Now here is the sob story.....over the last year and a half, I have experienced three miscarriages (Jan 2009, Nov 2009, and Apr 2010). After the miscarriage in Novemeber, we decided to slightly delve into the issue. Not wanting to dump a bunch of unnecessary time and money into the issue we elected to run only the blood tests that our insurance would cover. My OB/GYN informed me that I had a slight form of thrombophilia (PAI) and advised me to begin taking Baby Aspirin daily. Well, needless to say, it didn't work.

See?! That sob story wasn't so bad, huh? Now onto the good part....

After discussing this issue with my girlfriend (mentioned above), I took her physicians name and phone number. Alan and I later talked, deciding that it wouldn't hurt for a "second opinion." So...we have an appointment with a new physician on June 7th!! :) I feel so excited and optimistic for this. He is an OB/GYN who specializes in infertility issues.

We are very optimistic and hardly hopeless regarding our situation! We just don't like having to deal with all this hub-bub while waiting for God to work out His perfect plan.

With all this being mentioned, I plan to update my blog frequently with our struggles (or hopefully lack-of struggles) regarding this issue :)
