......Could it be?!

Could it be true that I'm getting grouchy in my old age?! :)

First of all, I'm not sure if I'm proud of the story I'm about to share with y'all, but on the other hand, it kinda makes me happy.....

.....Yesterday at work, my girlfriend and coworker, Sarah, brought us a case of Cherry Coke Zero (our latest obsession). After we each took our can(s) for the day, she asked if she could put it under my desk because people would be less likely to steal from me. :) She was obviously insinuating that people were afraid of me, right?

I know this sounds like a silly, simple story, but I have been told my WHOLE life that I was a "push-over." My mom used to remind me that my children would probably "walk all over me." HAHAHA....not any more!! People are AFRAID of me! That's why I'm not so sure that I'm necessarily proud of this story, but at the same time it's nice to know that I have finally set some boundries.

Don't burst my little bubble that I'm currently in, just let me continue thinking that I'm rough and tough! :)

Coupon Queen

Just call me the Coupon Queen. :)

I am well on my way to obtaining that goal that I set for myself (you can find my "goals" in the left hand column on my blog). I clipped coupons at work on Sunday, and graciously donated my first one to a girlfriend at Walgreen's the other night. She was buying shaving cream in anticipation for our lake day yesterday....and, I just *happened* to have a coupon for her shaving cream, saving her an entire $2.00! :) Wow? I know, right.

I promised her that I would blog about that situation because I'm so proud of the savings....and, the fact that she's laughs at my coupon clipping AND my new blogging obsession!

Being the good friend that she is, though, she found me some super cute coupon organizers on Etsy the other night. I will be investing in one soon :)

....PS, I'm not so sure I have informed my husband that we will now be shopping with coupons. :) Oops! I'm sure he will laugh at me too, probably the same way he laughs when I buy healthy food for the house. It's not my fault he has the metabolism of a 5th grader and mine has slowed down tremendously.

Meet Tyce :)

Alan and I were blessed with the most ADORABLE, HANDSOME new nephew yesterday. TYCE DOUGLAS DAVIS was born at 3:35am on 5/20/10, weighing 9 pounds and 21 inches long. He is quite the good lookin' little guy! We're so proud of Beau and Jill!

No Pea in Our Pod

Not that I have liked dealing with any baby-making struggles, but I have decided to share them with others in hopes of being able to help someone else in their emotional and physical journey to have a family. In a round-about way, I feel like God must think I'm an awfully strong person, for the saying goes "God won't give you anything you can't handle with Him." Ha! There are days I definately don't feel like that strong of a person.

Thanks to a great girlfriend, I made up my mind to discuss the issues that come along with trying to create a family. She struggled with similiar circumstances until she found the right physician to help her, and now she has a beautiful family of four! She told me the other day that she whole-heartedly believes that she endured such hardships so that she might help others dealing with the same thing. I'm determined to be just as influential as her!

Now here is the sob story.....over the last year and a half, I have experienced three miscarriages (Jan 2009, Nov 2009, and Apr 2010). After the miscarriage in Novemeber, we decided to slightly delve into the issue. Not wanting to dump a bunch of unnecessary time and money into the issue we elected to run only the blood tests that our insurance would cover. My OB/GYN informed me that I had a slight form of thrombophilia (PAI) and advised me to begin taking Baby Aspirin daily. Well, needless to say, it didn't work.

See?! That sob story wasn't so bad, huh? Now onto the good part....

After discussing this issue with my girlfriend (mentioned above), I took her physicians name and phone number. Alan and I later talked, deciding that it wouldn't hurt for a "second opinion." So...we have an appointment with a new physician on June 7th!! :) I feel so excited and optimistic for this. He is an OB/GYN who specializes in infertility issues.

We are very optimistic and hardly hopeless regarding our situation! We just don't like having to deal with all this hub-bub while waiting for God to work out His perfect plan.

With all this being mentioned, I plan to update my blog frequently with our struggles (or hopefully lack-of struggles) regarding this issue :)

Weeks Worth of Randomness

I realize that it's been a week since I've last blogged, and while you may not realize it, I have a new blogging obsession. I spend A LOT of my time at work browsing (jealously) through other women's blogs. I'm gonna get this whole graphic design/computer programming/blog designer thing down ;) Y'all just wait and see.

I should probably tell you all about my lake-ing accident, so you can also share in my pain and misery. Last Wednesday we successfully put Afternoon Delight in the water at Skiatook Lake. It was such a perfect day....mid-80's, super sunny, no clouds, empty lake...couldn't have been better. All that perfectness was interrupted when I had a little run-in with the ladder. While attempting to get into the lake to "tinkle" I hit my left foot on the ladder and knocked off a toenail. :( YUP, a toenail. To this day it still is attached by one very small corner and I don't have the guts to pull it off or do anything else with it for that matter. It hurts, but I will get through this like a champ!

On another random note, Alan and I spend a wonderful two days off work together on Monday and Tuesday. (By "off work," I meant that we had to go up to EMSA both days for things, but nonetheless, we were together). We haven't been lazy and hung around our house with Bentley is quite a long time, but that's about all that got accomplished on those days.

Lastly, and randomly, I wore shiny red heels to work today and I have felt very authorative when I hear my heels clicking in the hallways. :)

Whirlwind of a Weekend

I was so excited to have three days off of work, but before I knew it they were full of activities. Now I need a day off of work to recover from my weekend! :)

On Friday, I did all my normal household chores and grocery shopping during the day. I managed to even squeeze in some time to take Bentley to see his Daddy at the firestation. Alan had been gone working and camping so much lately that Bentley and I were really missing him. Below is a picture of the boys at the station, Bentley fits right in! Friday was wrapped up with dinner with my mom at Fox and Hound.

Saturday, Alan and I traveled to Stillwater with the Ellingtons for Michael Krebs' wedding. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut and use my best manners while having to spend an afternoon on the OSU campus (ha!). We did eat at Eskimo Joes, which ended up being a below par experience.

Sunday, we had family over to the house for Mothers Day. I know we were a week early with our celebration, but Alan and I both work on "real" Mothers Day. It was such a nice day to be able to have everyone together! We had a non-traditional Mothers Day meal.....with mexican as the cuisine in honor of Cinco de Mayo later this week.

Speaking of Cinco de Mayo, Alan thinks Afternoon Delight will be making her appearance on Wednesday. He spent his Sunday evening getting her all cleaned up and ready to hit the water, hopefully on Cinco de Mayo :) As crazy as that sounds, us Hancock's will probably be on the lake in TWO DAYS!! Yay!
