26 Weeks

I'm SUCH a slacker, this was suppose to go up last week (on Thursday!) So, you'll be getting two belly posts this week. My apologies!

How Far Along: 26 Weeks

Size of Baby: English Hothouse Cucumber (14 inches, 1 2/3 pounds)
Who in the world comes up with these veggies?!

Total Weight Gain: +18 Pounds
I'm happy with this number, I don't expect to lose much more weight. This is 5-pounds less than I weighed at my doctor's appointment last week, so I'm very very very pleased that my tub time is working. I feel MUCH less swollen than I was, it's nice to see my ankle bones :)  I just want to have as healthy of a pregnancy as I can for my body and Cale's!

Movement:  Cale has been on the move non-stop lately, which is FUN for this lil' momma! I don't know if I'll ever get over the amazement that I experience each time he romps around in my belly.  I know we all walk different paths to get to the point of pregnancy, some relatively easy and some harder, but each child is truly God's little miracle. When he gets to moving around real good, I just put my hands on my belly and smile in all my momma glory knowing that I'll get to hold that sweet little life in my arms soon!

Sleep: Ha! Sleep, whaaaat?! My sleep has been cruddy this week. I have difficulty falling asleep from restless leg syndrome and difficulty staying asleep from my cramps.  I'm pretty much walking around in a daze, hoping that my days off work turn the tides on these poor sleep habits.  I'm sure part of my restlessness at night was due to the news of my work situation too, it left me feeling pretty helpless and stressed.  (Update: since I originally typed this, I've been off work for one day and slept GREAT! My body needed that!!)

Symptoms:  Like I mentioned above, I've developed a touch of restless leg syndrome. I didn't realize that it was associated with pregnancy, and I thought surely I was going crazy by thinking I might be experiencing it.  Two nights in a row I laid in bed with the most awkward tingling/burning/itching sensation in my calves that was only relieved with movement. On night #2 I thought to myself, "Could this be like old people restless leg syndrome?!" After polling my pregnant/momma girlfriends and doing a little webmd.com research, it's fact! Restless leg syndrome is very real, especially in late pregnancy and especially with levels of low iron. Wonderful.  It's not painful, just awkward and annoying.

Best Moment this Week:   I don't know if I had a best moment, honestly. It was just another pregnant week--I'm gonna hit my hydrotherapy hard on my days off. Next week we go back to the doctor to reassess my swelling, weight gain, and lab work!  I want a good report from my doctor :)
